How To Refresh Your Browser / Clear Browser Cache - Keyboard Shortcuts

Press the following keys to refresh your current webpage in your open browser tab.

In most browsers, simply clicking the F5 will refresh the current browser page. On some Windows laptops, you will need to press the FN button and the F5 simultaneously. If you can not find the F5 key, do the following.

  • Windows — Hold down CTRL and press R.
  • Mac — Hold down COMMAND and press R.

Press the following keys to force a hard refresh/clear all cache for a web browser.

  • Google Chrome on Mac: Command + SHIFT + R.
  • Google Chrome on Windows & Linux: CTRL + F5.
  • Firefox on Mac: Command + SHIFT + R.
  • Firefox on Windows & Linux: CTRL + F5.
  • Safari: Command + Option + R.
  • Opera on Mac: Command + Alt + R.
  • Windows - Press CTRL + F5
  • Mac - Press Command + SHIFT + R
